I grew up in Victoria, B.C. One of the most beautiful places on earth. This summer, despite the pandemic, I flew to Victoria with my husband and two-year-old son to visit my parents. After three intense months of lockdown, we needed a break.
Our two-week trip allowed us to breathe again. My parents helped look after our son. We took walks as adults and not parents. We got back to ourselves in many ways. It was especially meaningful for me as the West Coast will always be my home.

Inflatable kayaks! Who knew how amazing these things were?
In celebration of my birthday: sockeye salmon with potatoes and zucchini from the garden and devil’s food cake for dessert. My dad made dinner and the cake. My incredibly talented sister decorated the cake. My mom set a beautiful table, as she always does (not shown).
